Meanwhile, standard T&I marketing advice (all those hot tips and tricks!) often falls short, leaving even the most vocal advocates scrambling for answers. So what can skilled translators do to build a fulfilling and sustainable future? 
Chris Durban - a voice backed by experience - will share fresh insights and practical strategies to help professional translators navigate our changing world.

She has also spoken at length with colleagues around Europe, taking ample notes along the way, and tracks industry trends.

Chris Durban is a freelance French-to-English translator based in Paris, where she specializes in publication-level texts for demanding clients—the shareholders, customers, and partners of a range of French corporations and institutions. She translates almost every day and enjoys it immensely. She also subscribes 100% to the “no excuses, good communication” school of translation.
Chris regularly gives lectures/workshops on specialization and working with direct clients, and has published many articles. Most emphasize the benefits that accrue to translators and their clients when linguists take a proactive approach. 
Every two years, she co-organizes with Société française des traducteurs (SFT)’s and Université d’été de la traduction financière a three-day training event especially for financial translators. She is also the co-founder and an instructor at “Translate in…” seminars promoting writing skills for translators. Chris is a member of SFT (France) and a Fellow of ITI (UK).
